Funnily I've never made much of an effort to touch-type the numbers, it just seems relatively easy to pick up as needed (they are all nicely arranged in order, after all). As long as you can hit the 1 key and the 0 key, the rest is intuitive linear interpolation. I type the 2 key with my ring finger, that's just what comes completely naturally.
